Experience and Community Involvement
Dan serves as a volunteer police and fire department chaplain in Burnsville, providing comfort and care for those facing tragedy (including volunteering for days to help those whose homes were destroyed by the fire at Burncliff Apartments) and notifying people when loved ones have died.
Dan founded and managed the Open Arms food shelf that delivered food to needy families in Burnsville on a weekly basis for nearly 10 years.
Dan has been married to his wife Valerie since 1974. They have eight children (four boys and four girls) and six grandchildren. Two of the children are attorneys, one is a hair stylist at Aafusion Salon in Burnsville, one is a legal assistant at Twin Cities Law Firm, one is working towards medical school, two are in college, and one is in ninth grade.
Dan coached youth hockey and soccer teams in Burnsville where his children played. Dan can occasionally be seen biking on paths and streets in Burnsville or along the Mississippi River. He enjoys walking with his wife on Portland Avenue near their home or sitting at the coffee shops in Burnsville’s Heart of the City.
I believe we should work hard, play fair, do the right thing, and expect the best from ourselves and others. Senator Dan Hall
